Japanese Tokai Fretless Jazz Sound for sale. Judging by the headstock and serial number I believe this was made around 1983/4.
Looking at an old Tokai catalogue the exact model is a JB85, a Jaco replica. Few dings and the usual surface scratches as you'd expect from an old bass. Pickups have been switched out for noiseless DiMarzio Model J's, original pickups work fine and will be included. The wiring has also been replaced with vintage CTS pots, vintage cap etc (original wiring included w/ grounding plates). The original knobs are off-spec so new ones will be needed, never got round to buying them but they can be sourced easily enough.
Bass itself weighs in at around 3.5kg, and I'm pretty sure the body is Sen (Japanese Ash). Currently strung with Fender 9050M's and comes with a Fender bag as pictured. Located in Stockton-on-Tees, I'd prefer collection but if I can source a case or decent packing I may consider shipping. Maybe tempted for a trade if anyone has P bass they want rid of!
Although trade value will be higher, I've been told I'm selling this cheaply. Any questions, holla! Up for sale is my lovely Fender Nate Mendel precision p bass. These have proven really popular as a fantastic high quality instrument. I have swapped out the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder which comes stock for an Aguilar AG4P 60’s pickup. I’ve recently had the bass serviced and setup with a brand new set of D’addario Chrome Flatwounds.
The bass itself is in fairly well used condition, with a few more dings and scrapes than it left the factory with, however it is worth baring in mind these are ‘road worn’ with an already thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish. This is an instrument with some serious mojo and punch, plays excellently and gives you so much beefy tone! Collection from Winchester or buyer pays postage. Includes original fender gig bag.
Carvin AC40 Fretless Electro-acoustic bass Hi This is a feeler for a lovely instrument that just isn't getting played and I'm still oggling other things. Here's my Carvin AC40.
£650 LR Baggs electronics. East west quantum leap silk crack. The sound from this thing is amazing.
Its a 34' scale fretless ebony fretboard on a mahogany neck which feels really comfortable. The action is perfect. So easy to play Of course its an acoustic instrument so it's as light as a feather Spruce top (I think) Not sure of the age exactly. The serial number is stamped on the jack plate (62348) There are a couple of tiny dings One on the end of the head (see pic) and also I spotted a small indentation on the edge of the side at the top.
